How does eternal dominion work

By the numbers, this is about as bad as it gets, even for an Against the Odds deck. Thankfully, we did finally get to go off with Eternal Dominion , and it made all of the losing worthwhile! Bribery every turn was as sweet as it sounds, and beating people down with their own Goblins and Thought-Knot Seer s had to be one of the most unique and fun ways of winning in all of Magic! As Amonkhet spoilers near their end, one of the biggest complaints about the set is that many aftermath cards that should be instants are actually sorceries.

So, what makes a good sorcery? Let's explore this question with our Against the Odds poll. It's a sorcery battle! Which card should we play next week? Let us know by voting! Anyway, that's all for today. Don't forget to vote for next week's deck! What are the odds of winning in Modern with Bitter Ordeal? We're about to find out!

Mill is just too much fun not to play. TheAsianAvenger is going to attack what is essentially 60 life instead of 20! More on MTGGoldfish Against the Odds: Bitter Ordeal Modern. Apr 6 by SaffronOlive. Nov 11 by Tomer Abramovici. Vintage I Thee Wed.

You need two in your hand two of the same would work ; a quicken , vedalken orrery , or leyline of anticipation ; and ridiculous amounts of mana production such as Cloudpost , Glimmerpost , Vesuva and Mycosynth Lattice or mana reduction such as the Planeshift familiars or Cloudkey.

Slap down one Epic spell, then before it resolves, quicken, then put another Epic spell on the stack. By the time one resolves, the other one's already been cast, and is not affected by "You can't cast spells".

This has been confirmed by a MTG customer support representative via email.. Report Abuse. I wonder Multiplayer blue mage's wet dream for sure. Very risky, for not an overwhelming benefit in relation to its mana cost, but incredibly fun.

Even the picture screams epic spell. This is never ever coming out of my mono-blue EDH. So yes, you can indeed copy the spell 2 times over on each of your successive turns with a leveled up mage, building up more and more copies of it.

Another cool choice is Uyo, Silent Prophet , to get a whole bunch on stack as soon as possible, before your replicating source is destroyed.

You copy Eternal Dominion during your upkeep, so Twinning Staff will make an additional copy. Being unable to cast spells make sit very hard to protect your creatures, or even to stay alive.

This is where Eternal Dominion itself comes in. Choosing what to steal will be vital for staying alive and keeping your combo pieces in play. In just about every game you sit down for, one of your opponents is likely to be playing at least one for you to borrow for your commander.

If a vital creature does die, you can borrow an Animate Dead to revive it. The other approach is to end the game before you can be interrupted. Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker is a solid option for this. If you know your opponent likes infect, Grafted Exoskeleton makes the 10 damage Zaffai, Thunder Conductor deals immediately lethal. The rest of the deck is dedicated to finding Eternal Dominion reliably, and surviving long enough to cast it. One of the big problems with a five-mana Counterspell is that you often end up wasting an entire turn.

Choosing to not cast a spell during your turn is a devastating loss of tempo if none of your opponents cast a spell you need to counter.
