Treatment Most stomach aches can be treated at home. If these are well tolerated, try other fluids: Sports drinks Clear, non-caffeinated sodas such as 7-Up, Sprite or ginger ale Diluted juices such as apple, grape, cherry or cranberry avoid citrus juices Clear soup broth or bouillon Popsicles Decaffeinated tea If fluids are well tolerated, slowly add bland solid foods, but continue to focus on fluid intake at the same time.
Fever occurs in one-third to one-half of infected people. Cramping abdominal or stomach pain and a general feeling of tiredness, headache, and muscle aches are common. Infected people are usually thirsty, although they may have trouble keeping fluids down. While it is possible to become infected with Norovirus at any time of the year, Norovirus activity is seasonal and typically peaks in late winter or spring each year. Like other dangerous bacteria, warm water and soap is a perfect combination to get rid of norovirus.
